Hi from Dalyan Garden Pension.
What I would like to do with this blog is give you a feel for what Turkey, Dalyan and our hotel have to offer and for you to be able to ask us questions about all of these, hopefully giving you information and inspiration

I won’t  try and cover eveything in one blog but over the next few weeks months I will try and cover, superficially at any rate, what Turkey, Dalyan and Dalyan Garden Pension have to offer and to respond to specific questions.

Its nearing the end of the season and what a great season its been, ours guests have been wonderful. The comments we have had from guests have been stunning. Thank you all for coming and we hope to see you all again soon. We also hope to welcome lots of new guests next year.

If you are thinking of coming to Turkey for the first time and are arriving at Dalaman Airport, make Dalyan and Dalyan Garden Pension your first stop. In terms of accommodation, we are a small hotel, pension/guest house. We have just eight rooms a large swimming pool and quiet secluded garden. We are in a rural setting, close to nature, but within walking distance of the village, the river, the shops, tour offices and bars. Have a look at our website and contact us for more information

Let me tell you a little about Turkey and Dalyan itself. Turkey has everything you could want from a holiday destination, sun, sea, beaches, history, plenty of activities, (from scuba diving, snorkelling, rafting, cycling, sailing to paragliding) good hospitality and food. If you are flying into Dalaman airport, Dalyan is just a 30minute ride by taxi or by our transfer company, Here you will get a taste of all the best Turkey has to offer and more.

Dalyan is half an hours from Dalaman airport by taxi or transfer company, it is in a conservation area, set on the river half an hour boat ride from on the mediterranean coast, and specifically Iztuzu beach, home of the protected loggerhead turtle the caretta caretta.

The waters and clear warm and shallow and the beach of soft golden sand, perfect for family bathing. You can take the local cooperative boat (public boat) down to the beach, whenever the boat is full it leaves. There are sun beds, cafe, changing facilities and showers at the beach. You can also take a dolmus (mini bus) from the village centre to the other end of the beach which has the same facilities. Some enthousisatic visitors walk along the beach from one end to the other – which take anything between one and two hours depending on how fast you walk!!
So you have the conservation area, the rural setting, the river and the beach. You also have the lake Koycegiz which can be reached by boat in the opposite direction. This is also part of the convservation area and the river and lake are simply stunning. Birdwatchers (who were delighted to spot the Hooper bird!) and nature lovers will really appreciate the surroundings. Also on the river are the natural mud baths and hot termal springs.

If you are interested in archeology and historical sites Turkey and Dalyan has plenty. Start with the lycian rock tombs visible from the village quay and then visit Kuanos with its ampitheatre and ruins from Clssical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine times. We can also help you organise trips futher afield to other historical sites such as Emphasis.

If you want to do nothing Dalyan is perfect, lie by the pool and read, if you want a full itinary of activities Dalyan is perfect, we can help you organise days scuba diving, snorkelling, treking, sailing, fishing, jeep safaris, and more, even as far as the wonders of Pamukkale.

So I hope that has whet your appetite for Turkey and to visit us in particular check us out at www.dalyangardenpension.co.uk and go the the contact us page to book or make an enquiry.

be back soon.
